Famyard Launches New Plots in Chaka With Land Blessing Ceremony

CHAKA, NYERI COUNTY — Famyard Enterprises Ltd has officially opened a new phase of plots in Chaka, marking one of the company’s most significant land launches to date. The event, held on site along Chaka Lane, combined a formal ribbon and fence-unveiling ceremony with a traditional land blessing led by a local elder, drawing partners, guests, and prospective buyers to the growth corridor just off the new Chaka Bypass.

Among the guests of honour was Joe Mucheru, Kenya’s former Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and Technology, who joined Famyard’s leadership team and a delegation of security officers, bank partners, and clergy for the day’s proceedings.

A Corridor on the Rise

The launch centres on Famyard’s Chaka Lane 15 Famyard Estate, a set of 50 x 50 ft plots positioned roughly 300 metres from the tarmac and bordering the new Chaka Bypass — infrastructure the company is betting will lift land values in the area over the next few years. It sits alongside two related developments in the same corridor, Chaka Ngatha Estate and Chaka Ranch Homes, alongside the company’s longer-running Plots for Sale in Chaka, Nyeri County listing.

Chaka sits within Nyeri County’s Kiganjo–Nanyuki corridor, a stretch that has drawn growing investor interest as infrastructure projects extend outward from Nyeri town toward Nanyuki. For Famyard, the timing of the bypass construction was central to the decision to open this phase now rather than later.

Blessing the Land Before the Sale

Before any plot changed hands, a local elder led a traditional blessing ceremony at the site, marking the boundary posts in a ritual meant to bless everyone who will eventually call the land home. It is a step Famyard has built into its launch events, treating the opening of new land not just as a commercial milestone but as a community one.

The ceremony was followed by a tour of the plots, a tree-planting session involving company leadership and the security detail on hand for the event, and a series of introductions between prospective buyers and the company’s financing partners, NCBA and Family Bank.
